Staffing Coordinator- YSC

Job Description

Overview

Develops and manages schedules, mandation, and overtime; tracks attendance; supports retention and fairness in staffing.

Position Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain weekly/monthly schedules across shifts.
  • Track attendance, call-offs, and tardiness; provide monthly reports.
  • Maintain mandation list and redesign practices for fairness.
  • Prepare weekly overtime reports for HR.
  • Audit time records against schedules.
  • Coordinate interviews and route hiring paperwork to HR.
  • Track staff attendance, specifically those in their orientation period.
  • Maintain staffing database (training, restrictions, certifications).
  • Coordinate flex/backup pool of officers for coverage.
  • Lead retention initiatives (recognition, birthdays, morale events).
    Collect staff feedback on scheduling and report to DSYS.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work any shift as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; experience may substitute.
  • Minimum 2 years in corrections, workforce management, or scheduling.
  • Knowledge of overtime/mandation practices in secure facilities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills.
  • Proficiency with scheduling and reporting software.
  • Excellent communication skills are required- both written and verbal.

Salary enhancement for bi-lingual skills are eligible.
