Job Description

The Indiana University Foundation is seeking a Vice President for Advancement tolead philanthropic strategy for IU Indianapolis. This is a high-impact leadership role at a pivotal moment in the campus’s evolution, withthe opportunity to shape long-term growth and institutional impact.

The Vice President for Advancement serves as the senior leaderresponsible for developing and executing fundraising strategy for IU Indianapolis. Working in close partnership with campus leadership,including the Chancellor, this role translates institutional priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities and leads advancementefforts across the campus.

This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution. The Vice President will operate witha high degree of autonomy, while collaborating across a complex, matrixed environment that includes the IU Foundation, academic units, andcampus leadership.

Key Priorities

  • Align philanthropic strategy with campus priorities
  • Strengthen and scale fundraising performance across schools and units
  • Build a high-performing, collaborative advancement organization
  • Increase donor engagement and long-term fundraising outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years’ experience of progressively responsible leadership in institutional advancement required; preferably with a complex urban research university or multi-campus system
  • Fiscal budgetary experience required
  • Combinations of education and experience will be considered
