Entryway Columbus, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to workforce development and housing access, is offering a free training program that prepares motivated adults for full-time careers in apartment maintenance and groundskeeping — one of Central Ohio's most in-demand trades.
Coursework is completed through our virtual learning platform, so you can build your knowledge base on a flexible schedule. The training is designed to get you ready for the real job: hands-on, full-time, onsite work at apartment communities across the region. Graduates move directly into hiring pipelines with our property management partners and may qualify for discounted housing through Entryway.
What you'll learn: ✅ Groundskeeping fundamentals ✅ Make-ready skills — locks, painting, electrical, plumbing ✅ Water heater basics ✅ HVAC 101 ✅ Garbage disposal installation & repair ✅ Appliance repair 101 ✅ And much more
Career support included: ✅ Resume writing assistance ✅ Interview preparation and coaching ✅ Direct pathway to full-time employment
Who this is for: Career changers, people re-entering the workforce, or anyone ready for stable hands-on work with room to grow. No prior experience required — just the commitment to show up, finish the coursework, and bring that same work ethic to the job site.
