IT Tech (Full-Time)- Information Technology

Job Description

The Medina County Board of Commissioners is seeking a full-time IT Tech for their Information Technology Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day-to-day administrative support of the County network.
  • Support various Operating systems and install applications on those operating systems depending upon their compatibility.
  • Manage the development of the servers and implement new services and functionality.
  • Maintain the production, by running a software and hardware diagnostic regularly in a stipulated period.
  • Keep a check on the software versions which are installed in the operating systems.
  • Responsible for providing support to any queries which arise.
  • Manage file sharing permissions to monitor mailbox quotas/space and check where the email has stuck and made sure that the email reaches its destination.
  • Making sure that the incidents get resolved with the SLAs and ensuring that the system goes through a scheduled patching process.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair for remote users as needed.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end users and network hardware, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation equipment, software, and other products to deliver the required desktop service levels.
  • Collaborate with Technology team members to ensure efficient operation of the organization’s desktop computing environment.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, tickets, and/or work orders regarding desktop problems.
  • Work with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.
  • Participate in weekly department meetings
  • Review, test, and make recommendations for standard email practices
  • Assist in monitoring anti-spam appliance to ensure its functioning optimally and not impacting mail flow
  • Incident and Problem Management: will provide expertise for complex incidents and problems, escalation point for L1 and L2, interface with Microsoft Support and various partners
  • Assist local and global teams to configure and support Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management (Intune) and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
  • Participate in projects to evolve or implement the new features of the Office 365 platform
  • Respond to and resolve escalated system incidents, problems or outages and accurately report and document solutions
  • Familiar with roles management using the Identity Access Management platform
  • Responsible for providing senior level support for the County staff
  • Develop scripts for automating processes within the environment
  • Must be able to produce detailed, accurate technical documentation

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Applied Science or equivalence
  • Two years of IT/IS technical experience
  • Two years of experience administrating Office 365
  • Virtualization Experience
  • Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator expert certification or MCSE certification, preferred
  • Network+, Security+; ITIL® V3 or ITIL® V4 certifications; other relevant certifications, preferred

Hours: Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, additional hours and on-call availability based on needs of departments.

Starting Rate: $20.96-$22.00/hour
