About the Role:

As a Motorcycle / Powersports Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of powersports vehicles across multiple brands and categories.

This is a performance-driven role, with compensation tied to flagged hours, allowing high-performing technicians to maximize their earnings.

Responsibilities:Diagnostics and Repair:

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATVs, side-by-sides, personal watercraft, and snowmobiles.Identify mechanical and electrical issues accurately and complete repairs efficiently.Handle routine maintenance, engine work, accessory installation, and troubleshooting.

Work Order Management:

Complete repair orders accurately and in a timely manner.Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding job status and additional repair needs.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

Work closely with the parts department to ensure correct parts are ordered and available.Coordinate with service advisors to maintain workflow and meet turnaround expectations.

Quality Control:

Ensure all work meets dealership standards for quality and safety.Test units after repair to confirm proper operation.

Organizational Duties:

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Follow all shop procedures and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Actively listen to customers' needs and communicate findings clearly to service advisors
  • Provide clear explanations of repair needs, timelines, and completed work when required
  • Assist with unit walk-throughs or basic explanations when customers pick up units
  • Support service advisors with accurate diagnostics to ensure proper quoting and approvals
  • Perform test rides or operational checks when required to verify repairs
  • Collaborate with the service and parts departments to maintain efficiency and workflow
  • Follow up on quality of completed work to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, new products, and technologies
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Participate in training programs to improve technical performance

Requirements

  • Previous technician experience in powersports, motorcycle, automotive, or related field preferred
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic ability
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated and performance-driven
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with powersports vehicles and systems preferred
  • Basic computer skills for service systems and work orders
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in the powersports industry is a strong plus
