Transit Architectural Designer

Transit Architectural Designer. Responsible for coordinating preparation of architectural documents by architectural and engineering teams for assigned transportation-related projects under supervision of licensed architect. Prep. detailed specs, drawings and architectural design plans. Assist in developing design and technical solutions for projects in all phases, including graphics, renderings, and complex BIM modeling. Perform BIM operations, including 2D drafting, parametric 3D modelling and discipline 3D model coordination. Dev. & maintain design technical BIM models.Addt'l duties available upon request. Reqs use of AutoCAD, 2D and 3D design software, BIM apps (Revit and OpenBuildings), Rhino 3D, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite and ProjectWise. Position based in Douglassville, PA; may work at home up to 2 days per week, subject to change at any time. Position duties req. approx. 25% travel time to project sites within Northeastern US. Reqs Bachelor's deg. in architecture, followed by min. 5 yrs of progressive exp. in position offered or as architectural designer preparing design and construction drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and details through all project phases, from schematic design through construction administration, using AutoCAD, Revit,Rhino, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite, serving in a project designer capacity to dev. design and technical solutions for projects in all project phases; developing project specs & identifying suitable products/building materials; participating in building code analysis and ensuring conformity with applicable codes; reviewing document submittals; conducting site visits; multidisciplinary and consultant coordination; completing architectural design documents. At least 1 year of req'd exp. must be in architectural design of transportation-related structures including station, concourse and platform design, structural coordination and public realm. Up to 2 yrs of required exp. may be satisfied by a Master's degree in arch. or architectural design. Also requires design portfolio demonstrating ability to create architectural designs, high-quality renderings and BIM models suitable for the company's architecture and engg projects, including for transportation-related projects.
