Job Title: Telemetry Technician (Travel)
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule & Shift

  • Shifts Available:
    • Day Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM
    • Mid Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
    • Night Shift: 07:00 PM – 07:30 AM
  • Schedule: 3 x 11.5-hour shifts per week
  • Hours: 34.5 hours/week
  • Requirement: Every other weekend

Job Summary

The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring, accurate ECG rhythm interpretation, and prompt identification of arrhythmias. This role requires rapid response to critical cardiac changes, supporting emergency interventions, and ensuring precise documentation. The technician collaborates closely with clinical teams to ensure patient safety and effective monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

Cardiac Monitoring & Interpretation

  • Perform continuous ECG monitoring and analyze cardiac rhythms
  • Identify arrhythmias and immediately notify appropriate clinical staff
  • Document cardiac rhythms during emergency/code situations

Patient Monitoring & Response

  • Respond promptly to monitor alarms and changes in patient condition
  • Assist in initiating emergency/code procedures when required
  • Troubleshoot telemetry and monitoring equipment issues

Electrocardiogram (EKG) Procedures

  • Perform EKGs with correct electrode placement
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of ECG recordings

Communication & Documentation

  • Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and healthcare team members
  • Enter and verify physician orders in the system
  • Retrieve and report lab results to the appropriate staff
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation

Equipment Handling

  • Operate and maintain telemetry and monitoring equipment
  • Ensure proper functionality and safety of all monitoring systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with ECG monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation
  • Pediatric telemetry experience (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
