13 Week Contract
Schedule: Monday - Friday. Guaranteed 40 hours per week
Service Area: Metro Wichita area (covers a 50-mile radius and the 5-county metro area)
Requirements
Must have at least 1 year of Hospice experience within the last 3 years as an RN.
HCHB charting experience is also required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine individual needs and develop tailored care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, adhering to all safety protocols and medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and utilization management strategies.
- Monitor vital signs, physiological responses, and overall patient condition to ensure optimal comfort and symptom management.
- Document patient records meticulously in compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families about disease progression, symptom control, and post-acute care options.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations, intake procedures, and emergency response efforts when necessary.
Experience
- Proven critical care experience within hospital medicine, including ICU or Emergency Room settings.
- Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers, with familiarity in trauma-informed care practices.
- Background in infectious disease care, behavioral health, geriatrics, or pediatrics is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and inpatient/outpatient clinical workflows.
- Prior experience with discharge planning, case management, or utilization management in acute or post-acute settings.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Excellent patient service skills combined with hospital experience across medical-surgical units or managed care environments.
