We are looking for a Teacher to provide educational structure for children during the summer months. This position will be part-time contract and onsite.
What You’ll Do
Complies with agency, division, and facility policies and procedures
Follows the directives of the Clinical Director
Completes daily teaching plans to facilitate smooth operation of the school day.
Teaches half day of school for 6-8 weeks during the summer months using hands-on activities to support the academic progress made during the school year and reinforce life skills
Develops an overall summer school plan that includes themes, speakers, field trips, etc. prior to the start of the summer school classrooms convening
Plans, coordinates, and conducts a variety of individual and group activities within the school day to support the growth of each child
Documents school progress reports weekly for the child's medical record with notes reflective of the children’s response to the program
Completes a 2-day orientation to be arranged by the Clinical Director
Meets weekly with the Clinical Director or more often as needed to make sure plans are in place, help is secured for special programs, and resources are available to carry the program out
Facilitates teamwork among other departments, working closely with Nursing Services who provide support staff in the school setting
Evaluates academic skills
What You'll Need
Required:
Master’s Degree in Education with special education endorsement
Possession of a valid Indiana Teaching License
Strongly collaborative leadership skills
Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner
Organizational ability to plan, form, and execute programs and policies
Ability to self-direct and initiate change as needed
Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
Solid communication skills
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Frequent sitting, lifting, bending, stooping, walking, and standing for long periods of time

$28 an hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will include 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
