The Multifamily Outreach Coordinator is responsible for driving engagement and participation in the AMP Up - Affordable Multifamily Program Upstate - by building relationships with property owners, promoting energy efficiency initiatives, and supporting participants through the program lifecycle. This role combines outreach, stakeholder coordination, education, and program support to increase implementation of energy efficiency solutions across multifamily buildings, with a focus on low- to moderate-income (LMI) and diverse communities.
What You'll Do
Execute targeted outreach strategies to engage multifamily building and property owners.
Identify and engage multifamily building & property owners to enroll in program.
Conduct door-to-door outreach and cold-calling to generate and develop leads.
Plan, organize, and host outreach events, workshops, and community engagement opportunities.
Attend community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to promote program participation.
Promote AMP Up and related energy efficiency programs, including materials developed by NYSERDA.
Educate building owners and stakeholders on energy efficiency strategies that benefit both property performance and resident well-being.
Identify and communicate available rebates, incentives, and complementary programs that can be leveraged alongside AMP Up.
Maintain subject matter expertise in AMP Up multifamily offerings and other relevant energy programs.
Participate in ongoing energy efficiency trainings, education and professional development opportunities.
Connect multifamily building owners to the AMP Up concierge and support them through program enrollment.
Coordinate with NYSERDA Technical Concierge and internal teams to move applications through the program pipeline.
Support participating buildings during the renovation process by facilitating communication and logistics between stakeholders.
Collaborate with other teams, including the WNY Energy Hub, to align and integrate program offerings.
Contribute to updates and improvements to the Affordable Multifamily Program.
We're looking for someone who:
Is a natural relationship-builder and strong communicator
Is comfortable knocking doors, making calls, and speaking in front of groups
Can work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities
Brings experience in community engagement, outreach, sales, or education (or similar work)
Is committed to equity and effective engagement across diverse communities
Bonus if you're bilingual (Spanish, Burmese, Arabic, or others).
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
Background in teaching, community engagement, marketing, sales, or a related field strongly preferred.
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to support outreach events and community engagement.
Must reside locally in Buffalo, NY area, able to work on site at least four (4) days per week.
Access to reliable personal transportation and willingness to travel throughout Western New York to meet with clients and attend events, meetings, etc.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a proactive, results-driven approach to outreach and engagement.
Ability to build relationships and effectively connect with individuals in both virtual and in-person environments.
Comfort speaking to large groups in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to break down complex topics into clear, digestible information.
Demonstrated ability to self-manage and organize multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to remain professional, diplomatic, and solution-oriented during conflict or challenging interactions.
Experience with CRMs, data entry processes and maintaining accurate records.
Basic knowledge of building science principles, construction, or energy efficiency concepts (or willingness to learn quickly).
Ability to think creatively and pursue nontraditional outreach strategies to achieve engagement goals.
