TECHNICAL DESIGNER

Location: Framingham, Massachusetts
Job Type: Contract
Compensation Range: $45 - 50 per hour

We are seeking a Technical Designer to join our retail client's team and lead the charge in transforming design concepts into high-quality, production-ready apparel.

At the heart of this role is a commitment to quality and value. You will act as the technical bridge between our Product Development teams and global vendors, ensuring every garment that reaches our customers meets our rigorous standards for fit, construction, and sizing.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and communicate detailed fit and specification requirements to vendors via technical reports, including detailed sketches and graded specifications.
• Review all fit and production samples for compliance with construction standards and recommend necessary changes to ensure bulk production readiness.
• Manage live fit sessions utilizing Alva forms to assess garment execution and provide final approval or rejection of samples.
• Partner consistently with Agents, Buyers, and Product Development to resolve technical issues promptly and improve garment construction methods.
• Approve specifications for bulk production only when they meet our "best-in-class" quality protocols.

Qualifications:

• Specialized Expertise: Men's and/or Sleepwear experience is a major plus for this role.
• Extensive experience in Apparel Technical Design is required.
• 3+ years in spec'ing, fitting, and grading (Misses, Men's, or Children's).
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Be Product (PLM), along with Microsoft Office.
• A strong technical background in pattern making, grading, and garment testing protocols.
