The Consultant

Michael Allen Company, headquartered in Darien, CT, has multiple openings for a full-time Consultant. This is a 100% remote position; can work from home.

Job Responsibilities:

The Consultant shapes work plans and timelines for engagements across all or most areas of project; structures and manages project team’s data gathering efforts; manages quantitative analytic engagements; leads project team, client and suppliers in primary research initiatives or secondary research study design and execution; identifies most pertinent analytic results, draw conclusions from analysis to confirm or refute hypotheses; raises new issues as projects progress and develops corresponding hypotheses; develops outline and logic flow for sections of major client reports; transforms analytic findings into actionable business insights and develops preliminary recommendations for refinement by Managing Consultants and Executives; engages directly with clients to draft and communicate findings and final recommendations; draws clients into action planning and identifies additional areas for potential engagements.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Health Informatics or a related quantitative field
  • 3 years of progressively responsible work experience as a Quantitative Analyst or related role, using varied procedures and problem-solving methods in a healthcare professional services firm, product company, or related organization
  • 2 years of hands-on global primary market research project experience, including involvement in survey design, construction and testing, sample stratification, conducting interviews, data checking, analysis and creating weighting/projection methodologies and reporting
  • 2 years of involvement with cross-functional or multidisciplinary project teams and third-party vendors
  • Participation in projects for drug development, business commercialization and brand marketing processes in biopharmaceutical industry
  • Multiple project experience using healthcare industry data sets, including claims data, Electronic Medical Records, Anonymous Patient Level Data, panel and registry data, behavioral and chronic disease surveillance studies, prescription and prescriber data, managed care and formulary data
  • 3 years of experience with MS Office products, including the design, coding and operation of Excel-based spreadsheets with macros, visual basic commands and function automation, as well as PowerPoint presentation creation and integration
  • 3 years of experience with statistical packages SPSS or SAS, programming queries, running advanced analytics, interpreting results and producing report output
  • Must also successfully complete an analytical competency-based interview
