Senior Project Engineer

Manufacturing | On-site (Denison, IA)

Travel: ~50%

Salary: $116,500+/- DOE

What You'll Do

Process Optimization & Innovation

  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, reducing waste, and lowering operational costs

  • Develop and execute implementation plans that enhance overall manufacturing performance

  • Apply engineering principles to create practical, scalable solutions

Engineering Design & Project Execution

  • Develop detailed engineering designs, material specifications, and cost estimates

  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to support project decisions

  • Ensure all designs meet required codes, standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Create and maintain accurate documentation, including drawings and as-built updates

Project Management & Coordination

  • Lead engineering projects from concept through completion

  • Define scope, prepare proposals, and evaluate vendor bids

  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects on track

  • Oversee installations to ensure alignment with design specifications, budgets, and timelines

Vendor & Contractor Oversight

  • Provide direction on equipment layout, utilities, and system integration

  • Review third-party work and recommend improvements where needed

  • Maintain organized project documentation, including manuals and vendor records

Reporting & Financial Oversight

  • Prepare status updates and progress reports for leadership

  • Manage project budgets and ensure financial targets are achieved

  • Support contract administration and project documentation throughout the lifecycle

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of engineering design, construction, and project execution

  • Experience managing large-scale or capital projects preferred

  • Knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and contract management

  • Ability to interpret and apply industry codes and standards

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and standard engineering tools

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across teams

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $116,500.00 per year
