We are seeking reliable and competent caregivers to join our support team caring for our disabled young adult in the family home. Our good natured young adult has a high degree of disability and is cared for at home. We have equipment to make the job easier (hoist, shower trolley, standing frame, wheelchair etc) and all transfers are done with another caregiver. Tasks include: • Personal cares (changing, dressing). • Tube feeding and preparing and administering medications via PEG. • Changes of position from wheelchair to standing frame to relaxed lying. • Household tasks. Skills: • We require someone healthy and active who is motivated and quick to learn new skills. • You will have a high level of empathy for others. • Good communication skills are essential. • Be a team player but able to work independently. You will be working as part of a care team. Carer experience is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided. Care is primarily required weekends 6.30-10am and 4-7pm. Part-time (6- 12 hours). Access to your own transport is required. You must possess the right to work in New Zealand.
