Description
The Sales Analyst, Haircare supports data-driven decision-making across the Aveda and Bumble and bumble brands within The Estée Lauder Companies' North America Haircare portfolio. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality reporting, analysis, and insights to drive sales performance, inform planning, and enhance cross-functional collaboration.
The analyst partners closely with the Director of Planning and Analytics to manage and expand a centralized Haircare data ecosystem-ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and actionable storytelling. This individual serves as a key connector between sales, marketing, and finance teams, translating complex datasets into clear narratives that influence strategic business outcomes.
Reporting & Data Management
Lead creation and delivery of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc sales reports across Aveda and Bumble and bumble.
Generate performance summaries at both the account and product levels, covering total North America and channel-specific metrics.
Maintain and validate sales data accuracy through consistent audits and reconciliations.
Support continued build-out of centralized Haircare data sources within Databricks to enable cleaner, more accessible reporting.
Forecasting & Performance Reconciliation
Compile and consolidate new product launch forecasts across channels and accounts, ensuring alignment with historical benchmarks, category trends, and business assumptions.
Design and maintain forecasting tools and templates that allow functional teams to easily translate marketing assumptions into actionable sales and volume projections.
Partner with channel leads to validate and reconcile forecast submissions, ensuring accuracy, reasonableness, and consistency across brands and regions.
Conduct total North America roll-ups of Haircare forecasts, serving as liaison between all channels to ensure alignment and transparency.
Deliver post-launch analyses that measure performance against original assumptions, highlighting key learnings and improvement opportunities for future launches.
Business Analysis & Insights
Translate raw data into meaningful business insights that highlight key trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
Partner with Sales and Marketing to assess performance of new product launches, promotional activity, and retail/partner sell-through.
Deliver concise, visual storytelling through dashboards and presentations that clearly articulate business performance drivers.
Support executive-level readouts and planning discussions with analytical insights and performance summaries.
Systems & Tool Development
Collaborate with the Director of Planning and Analytics on development and optimization of Power BI dashboards.
Assist in automation of recurring reports and analytical processes using SQL, Databricks, and Power BI pipelines.
Ensure continuous data integrity and alignment across systems and reports.
Ad Hoc Projects & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Manage and execute ad hoc reporting requests across Aveda and Bumble and bumble, often under tight deadlines.
Compile and analyze non-system data (e.g., partner submissions, field updates) to inform holistic business views.
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Brand teams to ensure consistent, insight-led decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in sales analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis-preferably within beauty, CPG, or retail.
Strong technical proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and SQL; experience with Databricks or similar data platforms strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and compelling business stories.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, manage deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Team-oriented, proactive, and intellectually curious - eager to problem-solve and continuously improve data processes.
