Job Summary
The Partnership for Math and Science Education Reform (PIMSER) is dedicated to providing high-quality professional learning that supports improvements in mathematics and science education for educators P–20. The Finance Manager supports PIMSER’s mission by overseeing financial operations related to grants, projects, and organizational activities. This role works closely with the Executive Director, Project Coordinator, professional learning consultants, and external partners to ensure responsible financial management, compliance with grant requirements, and efficient administrative processes. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Experience with budget development, financial reporting, and grant management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor budgets for projects, grants, foundations, ensuring alignment with funding objectives.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including proposal budgeting, award setup, monitoring and closeout.
- Provide budget oversight, analysis, and financial reporting to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Monitor grant agreements and ensure compliance with funder guidelines and organizational policies.
- Monitor grant expenditures to ensure funds are used appropriately and within approved budgets.
- Coordinate with leadership to review contract terms, scope of work, and amendments.
- Prepare accurate financial reports, budget revisions, and monitor grant performance.
- Develop and execute independent contractor agreements, services agreements, school/district/organizations, and other vendor contracts.
- Prepare and submit grant invoices and reconcile bank accounts.
- Manage all accounts receivable/payables.
- Track payroll allocations to ensure staff time is appropriately charged to grant and program budgets.
- Serve as point of contact for all projects and programs for administrative and financial questions; communicate with all stakeholders (school/district personnel, state department, educational cooperatives, etc.) regarding program activities, schedules, participants, meeting resources, reports, and financials.
- Manage master calendars and manage files (using both Microsoft, such as One Drive, and Google Suites)
- Assist with an external accounting firm for annual tax preparation.

Logistics:
- Part-time position (approximately 15–20 hours per week)
- Flexible work hours with telecommuting options
- Primary office location in Lexington, Kentucky
- Mostly remote work with occasional in-person collaboration
- Hourly position: $25–$30 per hour
- No benefits included
