Job Summary

The Minnesota Lottery is seeking a Regional Sales Supervisor for the North region of Grand Rapids. The major responsibility for this position is to direct and coordinate all regional activities including sales management, merchandising, promotion planning and implementation, regional corporate account management, new business development, retailer training, staff training and development.

This region covers the largest geographical area compared to the other regions in the state. Last fiscal year’s sales for the region were $183,413,180. The region has over 650 retail accounts and are responsible for driving incremental sales through merchandising, marketing, and promotions. These efforts contribute significantly to the Minnesota Lottery’s bottom line.

This position will report directly to the State Sales Manager and will oversee 6 Lottery Sales Representatives (LSR’s) and 1 Regional Office Coordinator (ROC). This region services the communities in the northern part of the state. Some of the larger cities included in this region are: Alexandria, Baudette, Bemidji, Chisholm, Crookston, Detroit Lakes, Duluth, East Grand Forks, Ely, Fergus Falls, Grand Rapids, Hibbing, International Falls, Moorhead, Park Rapids, Thief River Falls, Virginia and Warroad. The regional manager will take directions from their State Sales Manager but will have the freedom to act and have decision-making authority related to their specific region.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years of sales, marketing, and promotions experience
  • Supervisory experience OR experience as a lead worker OR completion of leadership program
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences
  • Valid Class D driver's license
  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related discipline may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sales experience in gaming or entertainment industry
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing, business, or related discipline
  • Sales, marketing and promotions experience representing consumer packaged goods
  • Demonstrated sales supervision experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills sufficient to establish effective working relationships with assigned retailers, chains and co-workers
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Demonstrate proficiency in current communication technology and business software programs.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally transporting articles of 25-30 pounds maximum and moving objects such as promotional materials.
