Retail Store Associate

Who we are:

Tea Market and Gift Bar is a 24-year-old independent, women-owned small business with a simple mission: helping people improve their health by finding delicious teas and everything they need to enjoy them. We call ourselves the tea shop with the heart of a teacher, and we're looking for someone who wants to be a genuine part of that.

Who you are:

You're energetic, warm, and naturally drawn to health and wellness. You love learning, love people, and would find real satisfaction contributing to a small business that has meant something to its community for over two decades. You're organized, accurate, reliable, and bring a positive, caring attitude to everything you do. Basic computer skills are a plus.

What you'll do:

• Help customers discover teas they'll love and measure them out accurately
• Work with Shopify Point of Sale System to ring up purchases
• Guide customers through our Gift Bar - a curated custom gift experience featuring wellness-inspired products
• Educate customers about tea (don't worry — we'll teach you everything first)
• Pack and ship online orders
• Keep the shop attractively merchandised, neat, clean, and fully stocked
• Receive and unpack shipments, restock product, and keep things running smoothly behind the scenes

This role requires being on your feet most of the day, navigating stairs and ladders, and breaking down boxes - the physical ease to do all of this is a genuine requirement.

The schedule:

• Thursdays 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Fridays 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Two Saturdays per month, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible in terms of which Saturdays, but consistent Saturday availability is essential - it's our busiest day and the whole team works together to make it work)
