GENERAL SUMMARY:
Greets customers and provides a variety of customer services such as answering telephones, providing initial customer contact.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Answer incoming calls and direct calls to appropriate person or voice mail. Take messages if needed.
  • Greet customer and direct to appropriate department or individual.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings for management.
  • Sort and deliver mail. May scan incoming mail into agency management system and activity to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with clerical duties including filing, copying, computer input, reporting.
  • May assist with accepting payments from customers
  • Order office supplies
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of insurance products and services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and learn Agency Software.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and function as a team player.
  • Ability to work with accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate various office machines including switchboard, adding machine, copy machine, etc.
  • Ability to learn insurance products.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • May require insurance licenses.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Seeing: 75 - 100%
Must be able to greet customers, read documents use computer
Hearing: 75% - 100%
Must be able to communicate with customers and co-workers
Standing/Walking: 25-49%
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 25-49%
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0-24%
Fingering/ Grasping/Feeling: 75% - 100%
Must be able to use computer, write


PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry or otherwise move objects. Job involves sitting most of the time and walking and standing some of the time.
