Summary of Job Duties
The CDL Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical products from our Akron branch to job sites and customer locations throughout Northeast Ohio. This is a local, home-every-night route position with an early morning start and no overnight travel. Drivers represent Wolff Bros. as the face of the company at every stop and are expected to deliver outstanding customer service alongside every order.
  • Operate a company-owned straight truck (CDL Class B) to deliver products to contractor job sites, customer warehouses, and branch locations.
  • Load and secure outgoing freight in the morning; verify order accuracy, count, and condition before leaving the branch.
  • Unload deliveries at customer locations using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand as the job requires.
  • Complete and obtain signatures on bills of lading, delivery tickets, and any required customer paperwork.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report mechanical issues, damage, or maintenance needs immediately.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs and comply with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch, branch staff, and customers about delivery status, delays, or order issues.
  • Assist with warehouse duties — receiving, picking, staging, and inventory — between routes and during downtime.
  • Keep the truck cab, cargo area, and assigned equipment clean, organized, and presentable.
Job Requirements / Expectations
  • Valid CDL Class B license (or higher) with a clean driving record.
  • Current DOT medical certification, or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred; local delivery or building-products experience a plus.
  • Ability to start at 4:00 AM, Monday through Friday, and work the full route shift through approximately 1:00 PM.
  • Forklift experience preferred; certification provided if needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service mindset — professional, dependable, and respectful at every stop.
  • Comfort with basic technology: smartphone, electronic delivery apps, and routing software.
  • Ability to read order paperwork, count product accurately, and resolve discrepancies in the field.
