Job Summary/Objective:

The Process Engineer Co-op / Intern supports the Process Engineering team with manufacturing support, continuous improvement projects, documentation, troubleshooting and data collection at the Lexington, SC facility. This role provides hands-on experience while contributing to projects that improve safety, quality, efficiency, delivery and cost performance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports Process Engineering projects and activities for assigned production areas under the guidance of engineering staff.
  • Assists with reviewing production processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, safety and cost reduction.
  • Helps collect, organize and analyze process data related to equipment performance, downtime, scrap, productivity and quality trends.
  • Supports troubleshooting efforts for process related issues, equipment concerns and production inefficiencies.
  • Assists with updates to process documentation, work instructions, procedures, forms and other controlled documents
  • Participates in other continuous improvement projects focused on streamlining manufacturing processes and reduction variation.
  • Works with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality and other departments to support project tasks and production needs.
  • Assists with the implementation and validation of process changes, new methods, equipment updates or revised procedures.
  • Participates in hands on training activities and helps update training materials for operators when processes or procedures change.
  • Observes and documents the effectiveness of process changes and communicates findings to the engineering team.
  • Supports quality and compliance efforts by helping maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company standards and ISO requirements.
  • Performs other engineering related duties and project support tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing or a related field.
  • Previous internship, co-op, or other related work experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with an interest in manufacturing processes, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
  • Basic data collection and analysis skills; excel experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills.
