We’re on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to help lead our front-of-house beverage team and deliver an exceptional customer experience. About the Role As Duty Manager, you’ll take the lead on shift, ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining full compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. You’ll be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming environment for both customers and staff, while driving high service standards across the team. Key Responsibilities Act as the certified Duty Manager on shift, ensuring legal compliance at all times Lead and support bar staff to deliver outstanding service Oversee opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation Monitor alcohol service and enforce host responsibility practices Manage customer enquiries, complaints, and incidents professionally Ensure intoxicated or underage patrons are not served alcohol Maintain compliance with licence conditions and company policies Support stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination Ensure adherence to Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 requirements Complete incident reporting and liaise with authorities when required Skills & Experience 2–3+ years’ experience in a bar or hospitality supervisory role Strong leadership and team management skills Solid understanding of bar operations and customer service excellence Ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure Confident in conflict resolution and managing challenging situations Good knowledge of NZ alcohol laws and compliance requirements Flexible availability, including nights and weekends Mandatory Requirements Current Duty Manager Licence (NZ) LCQ (Licence Controller Qualification) Legal right to work in New Zealand What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Supportive, tight-knit team environment Staff perks and discounts Opportunity to grow within a vibrant and expanding venue Apply Now Ready to take the next step in your hospitality career?
