About the Role
East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking an experienced, compassionate Senior Home Visitor – Family Services Specialist to join our Healthy Families America (HFA) team. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply committed to strengthening families, supporting positive parenting, and promoting healthy child development—while also serving as a trusted support and resource for fellow home visitors.

In this senior-level role, you’ll work directly with pregnant and parenting families through home visits, while also providing additional leadership and continuity support within the program. You’ll play a vital role in helping EBCAP meet Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) benchmarks and ensure high-quality, evidence-based home visiting services.

Position Details
  • Status: Full-Time (30–40 hours/week)
  • Pay: $24/hour
  • Schedule: Primarily weekdays with some evening visits; occasional Saturdays for outreach events
  • Work Environment: In-person, community-based (not hybrid eligible)
  • Funding: Grant-funded position through RIDOH

Key Responsibilities


Direct Family Support
  • Conduct home visits focused on child development, parenting, health, and family well-being
  • Complete intakes, assessments, goal-setting, and treatment planning in alignment with HFA and RIDOH standards
  • Partner with families using a strength-based, family-centered approach
  • Connect families to internal EBCAP programs and community-based resources
  • Complete required documentation and assessment tools accurately and on time
Program & Team Support
  • Serve as a senior support and point of consultation for Family Visitors
  • Assist with staff orientation and training on program tools and expectations
  • Support referral assignments and eligibility assessments as needed
  • Attend advisory group meetings and assist with reports as needed
  • Act as a “home visiting ambassador,” helping families choose the program that best fits their needs
Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Participate in reflective supervision, team meetings, and continuous quality improvement activities
  • Collaborate across EBCAP programs to ensure coordinated, holistic care
  • Engage in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development opportunities


Qualifications

  • Commitment to culturally responsive, ethical, and strengths-based practice
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least 3 years of experience working with children and families
  • Ability to conduct home visits during family-available hours (including some evenings)
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a good driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Human Services, Social Work, Child Development, Education, or related field
  • Experience in home visiting or early childhood programs
  • Familiarity with the Healthy Families America model
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Cape Verdean Creole
  • Infant Mental Health or Early Childhood endorsement
