Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students in Philadelphia, PA. This is a fully onsite, itinerant role serving a small geographic cluster of schools, providing specialized services to blind and visually impaired students.

Candidates may begin immediately, work Extended School Year (ESY), and/or start with the 2026–2027 school year in August. This contract position runs through the end of the 2026–2027 school year, with potential for renewal.

Schedule:

  • ESY: 25 hours per week

  • School Year: 32.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM)

Pay Range:
$45.75 – $55.75 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments

  • Adapt educational materials to meet students’ visual and learning needs

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers

  • Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP development and implementation

  • Support students in developing compensatory skills, including braille (if applicable)

  • Travel between assigned school sites within a small geographic area

  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports

Requirements:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired

  • Orientation and Mobility (O&M) specialist certification preferred

  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Ability to manage an itinerant schedule
