Coordinator, Accessibility Services

Job Description

Coordinates and implements classroom accessibility accommodations and services. Analyze medical documentation for the purpose of determining reasonable accommodations and conduct initial interviews with students with temporary medical conditions and provide advisement regarding various academic topics. Collect and report relevant quantitative and qualitative data. Design and implement comprehensive educational outreach for the office. Assist in the supervision of support staff by providing functional guidance as needed.

Additional Position Information:

Required Qualifications: Relevant Bachelor's Degree. A minimum of two years of experience in working with individuals with disabilities and coordinating accommodations in an educational setting, preferably in higher education. Knowledge and experienced application of federal and state legislation pertaining to individuals with disabilities in higher education/state and local public entities, as well as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and crisis management skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Functional knowledge of accessibility-related barriers and services in higher education/state and local public entities required. This should include experience in decision-making in the area of planning and coordinating the delivery of educational accommodations, preferably in a higher education setting.

Compensation: The compensation for this position is $43,888 annually
