Transmission Shop Service Advisor

Do you truly understand how vehicles work not just the basics, but the why behind the failure… especially when it comes to transmissions?

DunRite Automotive / Action Transmission is looking for a Service Advisor with strong mechanical and transmission knowledge to step into a role supporting our manager and helping lead the front of the shop.

This is not your typical advisor position. We need someone who can bridge the gap between customer communication and technical understanding someone who can confidently speak to transmission issues, diagnostics, and repair strategies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work alongside and support the Store Manger in daily operations
• Act as the liaison between technicians and customers
• Accurately explain transmission and drivability issues in a way customers understand
• Build trust through honest recommendations and education
• Write detailed, accurate estimates and repair plans
• Assist in workflow management and help keep the shop running efficiently
• Build relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Help handle challenges (delays, changes, comebacks) with professionalism and problem solving

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong mechanical knowledge required — transmission experience is a must
• Previous experience as a Service Advisor or similar sales role
• Ability to understand and communicate advanced diagnostics and repair processes
• Confident working directly with technicians and management
• Strong sales ability rooted in education, not pressure
• Organized, detail oriented, and able to think on your feet
• Comfortable with shop management software and technology
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license
