As the Farm to Kids Coordinator within the Minnesota Department of Education's Nutrition Program Services division, you will play a key role in expanding children's access to nutritious, locally sourced foods through the Farm to School and Early Care (F2S/EC) Project. In this position, you will work on the development, organization, and distribution of technical assistance, training, and educational resources that support schools, early care providers, and partners across Minnesota.

You will serve as a central point of coordination for program communications and collaboration with state and local partners within the Minnesota farm to school and early care systems. Core responsibilities include creating training and technical assistance materials, hosting both in-person and virtual training sessions, supporting project participants, producing communication resources, and monitoring the effectiveness of training strategies to drive continuous improvement.

The role also involves planning annual project activities, gathering and analyzing program data, responding to inquiries from stakeholders, and supporting compliance with program requirements. Additionally, you will contribute to agricultural education efforts by developing materials and learning opportunities that help children and students engage with local food and farming.

This position is available until Sep 30, 2026, with a chance to be extended.

This position is eligible for hybrid telework. Employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. Employees may reside outside the state of Minnesota if they live in a state bordering Minnesota and are within 50 miles of the primary work location. Existing employees who were approved to telework from a bordering state and more than 50 miles from their work location before June 1, 2025, may retain this arrangement unless they move farther away.

Minimum Qualifications

3 years of professional experience in project or program management OR

A bachelor's degree AND 2 years of professional experience in project or program management and training.

Experience must include:

  • Experience working within nutrition programs, farm to school/early care initiatives, public health, agriculture, education, or a related field.

  • Experience providing technical assistance, training, or direct program support to stakeholders such as schools, early care providers, or community organizations.

  • Experience coordinating projects, managing timelines, or supporting the implementation of program activities.

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners.

  • Experience compiling, analyzing, and organizing program data or information for reporting and planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Farm to School or Early Care initiatives, food distribution systems, or other community farm or local food programs.

  • Experience with training and technical assistance.

  • Experience with programming and partnership development.
