Child Support Case Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and highly organized self-starter with strong customer service skills and a firm, professional demeanor to join our JFS Team in the Child Support Division. The right candidate will be detail-oriented and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our community.

This position requires someone who can confidently navigate complex legal processes and manage both financial case management and enforcement responsibilities with precision, specifically within our civil contempt and criminal non-support caseloads. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with colleagues and court staff. Success in this role also requires the ability to maintain accurate records, initiate and sustain communication with custodial and non-custodial parents, and regularly prepare documentation for legal proceedings---all while balancing empathy with accountability.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Child Support Attorney Supervisor, the Child Support Case Manager is responsible for overseeing the individually assigned caseload(s) according to the most recent caseload assignment list prepared by the CSEA Administrator within the Child Support Division. They will also be responsible for conducting and performing all necessary action on cases to ensure compliance with state and county policies and procedures. The Child Support Case Manager will also frequently work alongside other Child Support Case Managers for related cases and responsibilities in accordance with all state and county policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of two years technical training or undergraduate major core coursework in criminology, social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Or Two years' experience in performing child support functions to include conducting investigations to locate custodial and noncustodial parents, establishment of paternity, and enforcement of child support orders.
  • Or One course or six months experience in interviewing techniques, one course or six months experience in business math, one course or six months experience in case preparation techniques, one course or six months experience in techniques of writing, and one course or six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing.
  • Or Education, training and/or experience in amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above
