John Everett & Sons Funeral Home ("Everett Funeral Home"):
Everett Funeral Home is seeking a Licensed Funeral Director to play a vital role in guiding families through one of life's most challenging moments. As a Licensed Funeral Director, you will coordinate and direct all aspects of funeral services, from initial consultation to final disposition, providing comfort and support to grieving families while helping to manage the logistical and operational responsibilities of the funeral home.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assistance with phones and 1st calls as needed.
- Assistance with transfers/transportation and the care/movement of the deceased when necessary.
- Meet with families to discuss funeral arrangements and pre-arrangements as requested.
- Coordinate logistics of transportation and preparation of the deceased on 1st call.
- Use of the MAVRIC system to complete and file death records with the Comm. of MA. Including outreach to death certificate certifying providers as needed to expedite the certification of death certificates.
- Arrange, confirm, and direct services/disposition in all settings, ensuring all logistics run smoothly.
- Collaborate with clergy/officiants/external participants to coordinate service details and facilitate a meaningful farewell experience for families.
- Lead sales efforts by explaining service options, merchandise selections, and pre-arranged plans to families in detail while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Completion of required documentation and paperwork as required to facilitate arrangements/disposition.
- Completion of Everett Funeral Home's office records management system process with every case to ensure that all at-need and after-care items have been completed and recorded.
Experience:
- Valid state license as a Funeral Director with active licensure in good standing
- Proven experience in funeral directing or related roles within the death care industry
- Skilled in event planning, organization, and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously, must be able to multi-task.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling caskets or transporting remains
- Excellent customer service skills combined with sales acumen to guide families through service options effectively.
Requirements:
- Must be able to use a Windows based computer for web portal-based data entry, e-mail communications, Microsoft Office Applications, and specialty software for stationary creation, video tribute creation, and website management.
- Must be able to read/write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting safely in a team setting (2 or more people at a minimum) if asked for help with movement of caskets or the deceased.

Pay: $32,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
