Head brewer

We are hiring for a new Brewer, at Bootleg Brewery, we live by our rule: Outrun Ordinary Beer. We’re a Matangi-based craft brewery pushing boundaries with bold, adventurous brews and we’re growing. Backed by a solid financial track record and real momentum, we’re ready to take the next step. Now we’re looking for a Brewer to help drive that journey. This is more than a brewing role. It’s an opportunity to take ownership of a progressing brewery, lead from the front, and continuously improve everything we do from process to product. What you’ll be doing: Leading all brewing operations from grain to glass Driving innovation and recipe development Owning quality control and ensuring consistency across all brews Identifying and delivering continuous improvement across systems and processes Managing production planning, inventory, and supplier relationships Leading and developing the brewing team Contributing to the strategic direction as we scale Daily tasks include orders, packaging, stock and coordinating brewery with sales. Pouring a few beers from time to time for punters at our taproom. What we’re looking for: Proven experience in a brewing role, head brewer preferred but we also view shaping a more inexperienced brewer as an opportunity. A passion for adventurous, boundary-pushing beer styles, big stouts, IPAs, Belgian beers are our passion. Handy on the tools, and mechanically minded.
