Financial accountant - contract

We’re looking for a Financial Accountant for a 3-month contract to step into a fast-moving, multi-entity environment and bring structure, accuracy, and insight to the finance function. This is a hands-on contract role where you’ll take ownership of reporting, controls, and compliance, while supporting better decision-making across the business. What you’ll be doing: - Delivering monthly management accounts across multiple entities - Supporting group consolidation and financial reporting - Owning month-end processes, reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity - Managing GST, PAYE, and FBT returns in line with IRD requirements - Partnering with leaders to provide clear financial insights and variance analysis - Driving improvements across systems, controls, and reporting processes What we’re looking for: - New Zealand CA or CPA qualified - Proven experience in a Financial Accountant role (multi-entity exposure ideal) - Strong understanding of NZ reporting standards and tax compliance - Advanced Excel capability and experience with Xero or similar - Someone who is organised, detail-focused, and able to operate at pace This role suits someone who enjoys getting into the detail, taking ownership, and making things work better. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years experience as a financial accountant, and ideally someone who prefers working in a contract capacity.
