The Opportunity A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Class 5 driver to join the JHT house removal crew. This is a hands-on role where you'll be driving the house truck, supporting on-site removal work, and helping the team get the job done safely and efficiently across the Bay of Plenty, Waikato, and Auckland regions. This role involves night shift work depending on project requirements, transport permits, and planned house moves. Key Responsibilities Driving & Transport • Drive the JHT tractor unit and house moving trailer during house relocations • Follow approved routes, permit conditions, and all transport regulations • Participate in convoy operations under the direction of the Site Foreman • Monitor route hazards including overhead services, road width, and ground conditions • Maintain a clean driving record and operate the vehicle safely at all times On-Site Support • Assist the crew with lifting, jacking, loading, and unloading operations • Support the preparation and reinstatement of houses for removal • Follow the job plan and sequencing as directed by the Foreman • Help with site setup and pack-down • Look after tools and equipment and report any issues Health & Safety • Follow all site safety procedures and company policies • Identify and report hazards to the Foreman • Attend toolbox talks • Stop work and raise concerns if something doesn't look safe Night Shift Operations • Work night shifts when required for permitted house movements and road access windows • Maintain safe driving practices during low-visibility and reduced-traffic conditions • Ensure full compliance with fatigue management and rest break requirements • Support safe convoy coordination during night movements under Foreman direction • Maintain clear communication with the team during night operations What We're Looking For • Current Class 5 truck licence (essential) • BESS registered • Experience driving heavy vehicles – house transport experience is a bonus but not required • Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions • Well presented, punctual, and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and can-do attitude • A team player who takes direction well and shows up ready to work • Good communication and organisational skills • Able to travel regularly across the Bay of Plenty, Waikato, and Auckland regions and occasionally further afield • Takes pride in their work and understands the importance of professionalism • Passionate about helping people into homes What’s In It For You • Join a business with over 100 years of history and an exciting future direction • A fun, supportive environment where excellence is the standard • Plenty of guidance and opportunities for personal growth Interested?
