Position Title: Maintenance Tech Level II – C & D Shift (Thurs- Sat 4:00 AM -4:30PM D shift (Thurs- Sat 4:00 PM -4:30 AM)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Wage range is $27.00 - $35.00

Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician II is a skilled position responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting complex machinery and equipment in a food baking plant. This role involves performing advanced maintenance tasks, diagnosing equipment issues, and ensuring the continuous operation of production lines.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow safety policies and protocols; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
  • Uphold highest standards of food safety and product quality through observance of allergen protocols, and Good Manufacturing Practices; promptly report food safety and quality issues as necessary
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on baking equipment and machinery.
  • Perform in-depth inspections, adjustments, and calibrations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Replace worn or faulty parts with precision to maintain equipment efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in baking machinery.
  • Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools for effective troubleshooting.
  • Conduct tests and evaluations after modifications to ensure proper functionality.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
  • Provide input for maintenance procedures, manuals, and spare parts inventory.
  • Conduct safety inspections on machinery and report any hazards or deficiencies.
  • Train and mentor Maintenance Technician I in advanced maintenance techniques.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with junior technicians to improve skills.
  • Provide technical support during production runs to minimize downtime.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in equipment operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, performing light janitorial tasks as needed

  • Perform other assigned tasks, as needed
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are basic necessary requirements of this position

Marginal Duties Performed Less Frequently:

  • Work with outside contractors, as needed
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new bakery equipment
  • Participate in equipment upgrades and modifications to enhance performance.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None – this position will not be responsible to supervise any other employees.

Qualifications / Education / Experience Desired:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience in performing preventive maintenance on industrial machinery.
  • Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex equipment issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a food production environment
  • Must be a self-starter and possess a positive attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively within small and large, diverse teams
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and/or holidays

Language / Mathematical / Reasoning Ability:

  • Must be able to write and speak, both clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand documents in English or Spanish, such as Master Safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and general instructions
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish/English preferred
  • May be asked to use mathematic equations (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division)
  • When issues arise, may be asked to assist in the troubleshooting process

Supervision Given:

  • This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • The position holder is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight at times, able to confidently handle situations on their own.

  • Must be able to stand for shift length up to 12 hours unless otherwise specified (Constantly)
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to peanuts and tree nuts (coconut, almond, and pecan) as well as other materials (Frequently)
  • Must use hands to grasp, grip, pinch and handle objects; lift and reach with hands and arms (Frequently)
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds (Frequently) and up to 50 pounds (Occasionally)
  • Must be able to exert a push/pull force of up to 50 pounds (Occasionally)
  • Required to walk and climb steps (Occasionally)
  • Must balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch (Occasionally)
  • Must be able to operate in congested areas (Occasionally)
  • Must be able to operate maintenance tools and equipment
  • Must be able to work from a scissor/articulating lift at heights up to and including 30 feet

Work Location: This position is required to work onsite in our Loveland, CO facility

Work Environment:

  • Environmental temperature varies between hot and cold conditions
  • Noise level is moderate; hearing conservation program not required, but provided upon request
  • Employees work on or near heavy machinery and rapidly moving equipment

Travel Required:

  • Very Limited – May be asked to go off-site for equipment training, safety/food safety training and other short duration items.
