Job Summary

Reproductive Genetic Innovations, LLC (RGI) is a pioneer in the field of Preimplantation Genetic Testing, with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Working with over 200 centers around the world, RGI has continued to see growth in their volume of patients. RGI is looking to fill the role of a full-time, on-site Molecular Lab Director to lead our laboratory testing team. This person will be trained to perform clinical casework, efficiently complete gene mutation detection, and identify copy number variants using NGS technology as well as the Director’s responsibility below. They will work as an integral part of our staff to help the lab complete patient testing in an accurate and timely manner. This position reports directly to RGI’s President.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • PhD in biology, genetics, or other relevant field
  • HCLD is required, or must be eligible
  • 5+ years of previous experience working in a molecular laboratory setting required
  • 2+ years previous NGS experience
  • Knowledge of Windows and other IT
  • Advanced knowledge of genetic concepts and terminology
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals
  • Self-motivation and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Skilled in prioritization, multitasking, and critical thinking/problem solving
  • Curiosity, creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to learn quickly

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Ensures compliance with safety and accreditation requirements (Ex: CLIA and CAP).

Operational Management: Oversees day-to-day testing operations - ensuring accuracy and maintaining standards

Personnel Leadership: Hires, trains, and supervises staff, ensuring competency for test procedures.

Quality Assurance: Implements and monitors quality control and quality improvement programs, including reviewing proficiency testing results.

Financial & Resource Management: Manages budgeting, staffing, and equipment purchasing, often improving laboratory productivity.

Communication: Interacts with clinical staff, external partners, and clients to support diagnostics or research

Benefits:

The starting pay for this position is $129,000 and will based on relevant experience and current industry standards. Full-time employees are eligible for employment benefits after completing 60 days of employment at RGI. Benefits include: health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, paid vacation days, and participation in the 401K plan.
