Position Overview
The Assistant Kitchen Manager plays a critical leadership role in the daily Back of House operations. This position works directly alongside the Kitchen Manager and management team to ensure food quality, cleanliness, food safety, prep execution, ticket times, and team accountability are consistently maintained.
This is a hands-on management role. The ideal candidate is organized, hardworking, detail-oriented, and comfortable leading a kitchen team during busy service periods.

Responsibilities
- Assist in leading daily kitchen operations
- Ensure food is prepared consistently and according to recipes and standards
- Support kitchen staff during peak service periods
- Help manage ticket flow, food quality, and kitchen communication
- Assist with prep lists, line setup, and kitchen organization
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times
- Monitor cleanliness of all kitchen areas including equipment, floors, coolers, and storage areas
- Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving deliveries, and proper product rotation
- Help train, coach, and develop kitchen team members
- Assist with interviewing and onboarding new BOH employees
- Maintain labor and productivity standards
- Hold team members accountable to company policies and expectations
- Ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of all food products
- Support dish and cleaning operations when needed
- Help create a positive, high-energy kitchen culture built on teamwork and accountability
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen leadership experience preferred
- High-volume restaurant experience preferred
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

This is a full-time management position requiring flexible availability, including nights, evenings, weekends, and game days.
