Locum Anesthesiologist

Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist to join a collaborative and highly respected medical team. This is a long-term onsite opportunity in a modern, well-equipped clinical environment where patient safety and quality of care are top priorities.

The physician will provide comprehensive anesthesia care across an extensive, high-complexity surgical caseload — including spine, vascular, oncologic surgery, thoracic, neurological, and more — working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary care team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide anesthesia for a wide range of specialties: Spine, Orthopedic, GYN Oncology, Surgical Oncology (esophagectomy, liver resection, HIPEC, Whipple), Vascular (endo and open), Urology (cysto, open, robotic), Neurosurgery (craniotomy and endo), Plastics, General, Bariatric, Thoracic, OB, IR, and Endoscopy
• Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations and develop individualized, patient-centered anesthesia plans
• Administer and manage general, regional, and neuraxial anesthesia techniques
• Monitor and manage patients intraoperatively, ensuring hemodynamic stability and patient safety
• Collaborate with surgeons, OR nursing staff, and advanced practice providers in a multidisciplinary team setting
• Oversee post-operative pain management and recovery room care
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold all quality and safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS

• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anesthesiology (ABA or AOS)
• Active medical licensure in Tennessee or ability to obtain
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical anesthesia experience; high-complexity case experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, multidisciplinary surgical environment

SCHEDULE

• Day shifts — 8-hour or 10-hour shifts available
• Monday – Friday schedule
• On-call coverage details to be discussed during onboarding
