We are a community based, child focused supervised contact agency. Contact visits are for two hours and venues do vary. This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting team. Applicants must be available for some weekend work. We are looking to expand our group of supervisors, both male and female. The role provides for a non-day to day (visiting) parent to have supervised visits with their children, ensuring that children are safe, while supporting and providing an opportunity to rebuild the parent/child relationship. The role includes supervising the contact, keeping the child/children safe, following any safety plan that may be in place, and writing an observational report (without opinion) after the contact. Must be able to use Microsoft word and have internet access. Mileage is paid from home to the contact and return so a reliable vehicle is essential. Most contacts take place during the weekend or after school hours. Weekday visits do occur for pre-schoolers and some families do have after school contact, however weekends are more suitable for most of our families. Times and venues need to fit with whanau/family commitments. Contacts occur in parks, beaches, libraries, cafés, or any other community venue that is safe and age appropriate. Hours are flexible depending on supervisor availability. Training and ongoing support will be given. A Police Vet Check will be required. A full driver’s licence and basic computer skills are required. Relevant qualifications, an understanding of domestic harm, trauma, mental health and addictions, or at least 2 years working with people will be advantageous. Our families have wide-ranging needs, hence the need for a diverse range of supervisors to match with these families. This role supports rebuilding safe relationships and creating happy family memories for children and parents.
