Security Officer - Minot State Office of Safety and Security
Part time - Non-benefited - up to 20 hours/week

Position Summary
Minot State University Office of Safety and Security is seeking a qualified candidate for a position as a part-time Campus Security Officer

Responsibilities

  • High visibility patrol in all buildings and parking lots to enhance safety and security of the campus community
  • Investigate and document reported crimes and safety issues
  • Provide special event security as assigned
  • Provide personal security escort for employees, students, and guest when requested.
  • Work with local law enforcement agencies and having appropriate authority to enforce local, state, and federal laws
  • Provide training for employees to maintain a safe and secure work and educational environment
  • Enforce campus parking regulations
  • Assist in securing campus buildings
  • Will be trained and certified as a Clery Act Campus Security Authority and Title IX Responsible Employee
  • Variable work shifts will include days, evening/night, and weekends

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 60 semester hours of college preferred. High school diploma or GED plus law enforcement/security related experience will substitute for degree requirements
  • Ability to accurately write an investigative report
  • Walk or stand for two hours
  • Lift or carry up to 25 pounds
  • Competent user of personal computers and application software.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Operate standard office equipment (telephone, copier, fax, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Successfully pass a criminal history check prior to employment

Compensation
$18 per hour - up to 20 hours per week - Non-benefited
