CAD Design Technician

Job Description

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a CAD Design Technician with our medical device client in Lafayette, CO. This is an 11-month contract with a potential for extension.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.


Description:
  • Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations.
  • Utilizes computer-aided design software such as Creo or Solidworks.
  • Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.



Must Have Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 3D CAD/ Design Engineer/Technician
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specification, and technical requirements.
  • Experience with building, assembling, and modifying prototypes.
  • Experience with executing mechanical and functional testing on components and assembles.
  • Ability to document test methods, results, and observations with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional technical/engineering team to troubleshoot design issues. Support of design verification and validation activities.
  • Advanced understanding of Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and Design-for-Assembly (DFA)
  • Experience with lab equipment (force gauges, torque tools, environmental testing, etc.)
  • Understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).



Nice to Have Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Exposure to regulated environments (medical device, aerospace, etc)
  • Familiarity with PLM system or document control processes
