Purpose:
Oversee critical accounting functions such as cash management, endowment reporting and gift accounting to departments, fixed asset accounting management; provide support to campus budget managers on systems and consult on financial and budgetary matters; support the VP and CFO with reporting to Senior Staff, the Board, and campus budget managers; help develop and manage the annual budget.
Summary of the position:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for financial management and support to the CFO, the Controller, and finance staff in the furtherance of meeting daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial tasks and objectives. This person ensures the College’s internal and external accounting data are posted correctly, consistently, and in accordance with generally accepted principles and legal obligations. Moreover, this person oversees the gift fund accounting from the College’s endowment and other donor support, cash management, banking reconciliations, accounting for fixed assets, and end-user support for our major systems such as Sage Interact. This person is an intermediary with key campus constituents including Admissions/Financial Aid, Development, and other campus financial managers.
