Job Summary
The Youth Director is a dynamic and compassionate leader dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, mentorship, and community engagement among young people. This role involves designing and implementing youth programs that promote faith, character development, and social responsibility. The Youth Director will serve as a positive role model, providing guidance and support to children and teenagers while collaborating with families, church staff, and community partners to create a nurturing environment rooted in Christian values. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation and make a meaningful impact in their lives.

The Youth Director will execute the mission and vision of Latrobe Community Ministries with the youth of the church and in the community through family, outreach, and discipleship ministries. The position will support the LCM mission and vision through curricula, environments and ministries that will draw families and students closer to God and help them become devoted disciples of Jesus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the youth ministry programs and discipleship.
  • Build, lead, equip, and release servant teams and manage servant staff.
  • Set realistic goals for the youth group consistent with church vision and mission.
  • Clearly communicate vision and strategy on a consistent basis.
  • Be informed of the community trends and culture that relates to youth.
  • Establish standards/measurements for activities and oversee evaluation against those standards.
  • Develop a long-range plan for youth ministries in conjunction with the Pastor and Leadership team.
  • Develop healthy working relationships with staff and all ministry teams in the church, coordinating youth-related and other congregational activities.
  • Take ownership of existing youth-related activities, growing, modifying, or starting new initiatives based on goals/strategies developed and adopted.
  • Develop relationships with parents, guardians, and youth that promote a Christian lifestyle; being willing to provide resources and counsel to assist in their spiritual growth.
  • Coordinate youth-oriented retreats, activities/outings, and mission trips.
  • Plan regular Youth Leadership Team meetings to plan and communicate with the youth servant leaders.
  • Oversee youth budget and fundraising.
  • Use proven child and youth behavior management skills and strategies.

Qualifications

  • Must have a vibrant, deep, growing, and authentic faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and the ability to articulate the meaning of that faith and share it with others.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree.
  • Experience as a youth leader at a church or para-church ministry.
  • A history of ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in a multi-staff, multi-service environment.
  • The ability to coordinate several activities at once and to quickly analyze and resolve specific problems.
  • Valid Drivers License

Paid Time Off

Paid time off (14 days), to be scheduled at the discretion of the Lead Pastor. (Care will be taken to be present during holidays and high attendance seasons.)
