Kennedy Donovan Center (KDC) is seeking compassionate, dedicated individuals or families to become Shared Living Caregivers. In this unique opportunity, you will open your home to an adult with developmental or intellectual disabilities and provide a supportive, inclusive living environment that promotes independence, dignity, and community engagement.
About the Role
As a Shared Living Caregiver, you will welcome an individual into your home and support them with daily living activities while fostering a safe, stable, and enriching environment. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to build a lasting relationship and make a direct impact on someone’s quality of life.
Responsibilities
Provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment
Assist with daily living skills such as cooking, hygiene, and budgeting
Support medical, behavioral, and personal care needs (as applicable)
Facilitate community involvement, socialization, and recreational activities
Coordinate and attend appointments as needed
Maintain documentation and communicate regularly with the KDC care team
Collaborate with case managers and clinical staff to support individual goals

Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
Have a spare bedroom in your home
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship
Ability to pass background checks (CORI/BRC, fingerprinting, etc.)
Experience in caregiving, human services, or a related field preferred—but not required
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
