About the Role Are you an experienced Security Installation Technician looking to work with the best? Keen to join a business that will prioritise your career development? We are seeking a skilled and motivated Security Technician to join our dedicated and dynamic team. In this role, your primary focus will be installation, commissioning, programming, and maintenance of new security and CCTV systems on commercial projects alongside servicing and maintaining our existing customer base of security and CCTV systems across Auckland and greater New Zealand. Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities * Install, configure, commission, and maintain security systems including access control, intruder alarm, and intercom systems across commercial sites * Install, configure, and commission CCTV and video surveillance systems, including IP cameras, NVRs, and video management software (VMS) * Programme and configure leading security platforms such as Gallagher, Inner Range, ICT, and Salto systems * Programme and configure CCTV platforms such as Hanwha Wisenet NVR and WAVE VMS system, Axis, Milestone, Hikvision and Dahua * Diagnose and service security systems commonly found across the Auckland market, such as Paradox, Ajax, Tecom, Bosch Solution series, DSC, and Honeywell panels * Perform technical fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on all security and CCTV equipment * Interpret site specifications, plans, and design documentation for security installations * Conduct system testing, handover, and end-user training upon project completion * Manage workflow effectively to meet project timelines and budgets * Maintain accurate job records, documentation, and reporting * Provide technical advice and support to clients on security system solutions * Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients * Respond to service callouts on existing customer sites, carrying out fault finding, repairs, and reactive maintenance on security and CCTV systems * Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance visits on existing security, access control, intruder alarm, and CCTV systems to keep customer sites running reliably * Manage service tickets through to resolution, providing timely updates to clients and the service coordinator, and meeting agreed service response times * Carry out system upgrades, firmware updates, and minor add-on works on existing customer security and CCTV systems * Provide after-hours and on-call service support as part of the team rotation, when required * Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular service interactions and quality workmanship Skills, Experience and Qualifications Essential: * Proven service and installation experience working in the New Zealand security industry, including responding to service callouts and carrying out preventative maintenance on commercial security and CCTV systems * Strong working knowledge of leading access control and intruder alarm systems, such as Gallagher, Inner Range, ICT, and Salto * Strong working knowledge of CCTV and video surveillance systems such as Hanwha Wisenet NVR and WAVE VMS system, Axis, Milestone, Hikvision and Dahua * Familiarity with security systems such as Paradox, Ajax, Tecom, Bosch, DSC, and Honeywell * Basic understanding of network behaviours and familiarity with IP-based equipment * Ability to read and interpret site plans, specifications, and technical documentation * Strong fault finding skills and a customer-focused approach, with the confidence to attend service calls independently and resolve issues on site * A current Certificate of Approval (COA) security clearance, or the ability to obtain one * A current full New Zealand driver’s licence Preferred: * Experience with Salto electronic access control and smart lock systems * Relevant trade or technical qualification in electronics, security, or a related field * Experience working on large-scale commercial security projects * Experience servicing long-term commercial maintenance customers and working within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) What We Offer * Permanent, full-time position with guaranteed 40 hours per week * Opportunity to work with cutting-edge security and CCTV technologies * Career development and training opportunities * A supportive and experienced team environment * Exposure to diverse and major commercial installations across New Zealand How to Apply If this sounds like it could be the next step in your career, please send your CV to careers@datapacific.co.nz
