Job Summary
The be well Health and Wellness Initiative (be well) seeks an experienced and dynamic Development Officer to lead the organization’s fundraising strategy and revenue growth efforts. This is a one‑year, grant‑funded position with the opportunity for renewal, contingent upon successful performance, achievement of fundraising goals, and availability of continued funding. The Development Officer will design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies; cultivate donor, corporate, and foundation relationships; manage grant development; plan fundraising events; and build strategic partnerships to advance be well’s mission. This role plays a central part in securing $300K per quarter and diversifying funding streams.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Generation

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate annual fundraising plans
  • Identify new funding opportunities using data insights
  • Diversify revenue streams, including fee-for-service, corporate partnerships, and grants

Donor Cultivation & Stewardship

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors
  • Build and maintain a strong, long-term donor pipeline

Grant Development

  • Research and prepare competitive grant proposals.
  • Ensure timely reporting and compliance with grant requirements.

Events & Marketing

  • Plan and execute fundraising events.
  • Support development of promotional and marketing materials.

Data & Reporting Systems

  • Develop and maintain donor databases and CRM systems.
  • Analyze donor and fundraising data to refine and strengthen strategies.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Align fundraising strategies with organizational goals
  • Support messaging, storytelling, and engagement initiatives

Fee‑for‑Service Expansion

  • Develop strategies to grow technical assistance and fee-for-service offerings

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of fundraising or development experience with a proven record of meeting revenue goals.

Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and storytelling abilities; comfort with face‑to‑face solicitation.

Preferred Certification: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).

Work Environment: Hybrid setting with occasional evening/weekend work.

Compensation

$80,000–$100,000 annually, plus benefits.
