What will you be doing?

The convergence of AI, accelerated computing, and enterprise transformation is redefining what it means to be a solutions architect. WWT's AI Practice is at the center of that shift — and this Principal Solutions Architect role sits at its most senior technical edge.

WWT's most successful architects do not just design infrastructure. They connect technical depth to business outcomes, earn the trust of executive stakeholders, and translate what is possible into what is valuable. This role is built for someone who thinks in business models as fluently as they think in reference architectures.

This is a senior thought leadership position for an architect who has earned credibility across both the technology domain and the boardroom. You will shape WWT's AI Factory strategy, guide customers through the most complex AI adoption challenges of their careers, and build the intellectual foundation that makes WWT's HPA Practice irreplaceable.

The role is designed as a natural pathway to the Distinguished Architect title — the expectation is that you will generate IP, influence industry direction, and grow the architects around you.

Responsibilities:

  • Thought Leadership & Business Architecture
    • Serve as a senior subject matter authority for AI Factory design, accelerated infrastructure, and workload-optimized architecture across Enterprise, GSP, Public Sector, and Federal markets.
    • Translate deep technical architecture into business outcomes — connecting infrastructure decisions to financial impact, competitive advantage, risk posture, and operational resilience.
    • Develop original intellectual property: reference architectures, point-of-view papers, design frameworks, and advisory content that differentiates WWT's AI Practice in the market.
    • Engage key stake holders and executive/C-suite stakeholders as a trusted advisor, helping organizations understand not just what to buy, but how AI Factory investment maps to business model transformation.
    • Represent WWT at industry forums, partner summits, and customer briefings as a recognized voice in AI infrastructure architecture.

  • AI Factory Architecture & Design
    • Architect end-to-end AI Factory environments — spanning GPU compute, high-performance networking, intelligent storage, and workload management — aligned to customer AI use cases ranging from model training to inference at scale.
    • Lead high-level design (HLD), bill of materials (BOM), and low-level design (LLD) for complex AI infrastructure engagements, incorporating the full NVIDIA ecosystem:
    • DGX Hopper, Blackwell, HGX, MGX, OVX, L40S, RTX Pro 6000
    • NVIDIA NVAIE, Mission Control, NIM, Dynamo, Run:ai, and Blueprints
    • NVIDIA Certified Partner (NCP) reference architecture frameworks
    • Design AI Factory solutions incorporating NVIDIA and/or AMD/Intel accelerated platforms, ensuring customers have vendor-neutral advisory that aligns to their specific workload economics.
    • Apply deep Cisco infrastructure expertise when needed — networking architecture, security fabric, and data center design — to build the reliable, high-throughput connectivity fabric that AI Factories demand, including InfiniBand and high-speed Ethernet interconnect design.
    • Develop architectures that span the full AI compute stack: bare-metal, containerized, and virtualized environments including but not limited to the fourth pillar of HPA and Intelligence layers of AI Factory and HPA

  • AI Workload Management & MLOps
  • Architect and advise on AI workload orchestration environments including NVIDIA BCM, Run:ai, Slurm, and emerging orchestration platforms such as Aarna, Apolo, Rafay, and ClearML.
  • Guide customers on MLOps strategy with extended team resources — from data pipeline design through model training, validation, deployment, and lifecycle management — ensuring infrastructure decisions support the data science teams that consume them.
  • Size and design compute environments based on model type, parameter count, precision requirements, and inference SLA targets, translating data science requirements into infrastructure specifications.
  • Advise on Kubernetes-native and OpenShift AI architectures that enable scalable, reproducible AI workload environments across multi-tenant factory deployments.

  • Secure AI Factory Design
  • Lead architecture engagements with an explicit security posture embedded from first principles — designing AI Factories that meet the governance, risk, and compliance requirements of regulated industries and federal customers.
  • Develop zero-trust architecture frameworks for AI environments, addressing model access controls, data provenance, inference security, and supply chain integrity for AI workloads.
  • Advise customers on securing multi-tenant GPU clusters, protecting training data and model weights, and establishing observability and audit trails for AI-driven business processes.
  • Collaborate with WWT's security practice to align AI Factory designs with enterprise security architecture, ensuring that the speed of AI adoption does not outpace organizational risk tolerance.

  • Field Enablement & Practice Development
  • Partner with WWT's regional field architects, sales organization, and professional services teams to translate HPA and AI Factory capabilities into customer-ready solutions, workshops, and advisory offerings.
  • Develop and deliver technical enablement content — briefings, training, roadshows, and hands-on labs through WWT's Advanced Technology Center — that builds the field organization's ability to position and sell AI Factory solutions.
  • Contribute to WWT's AI Practice go-to-market strategy by identifying new solution areas, emerging technology opportunities, and adjacent business outcomes that HPA capabilities can address.
  • Conduct market scan analyses comparing key OEM solutions across the HPA portfolio, providing WWT leadership and customers with objective, architecturally grounded guidance.
  • Achieve and maintain OEM certifications across the HPA ecosystem — NVIDIA, AMD, Cisco, and key system OEMs — ensuring WWT retains elite partner status and access to early roadmap engagement.

  • Partner & Ecosystem Leadership
  • Cultivate and sustain executive-level relationships with WWT's most strategic HPA partners — NVIDIA, AMD, Cisco, HPE, Dell, and others compute players — ensuring WWT has early access to roadmaps, engineering resources, and co-sell opportunities.
  • Drive partner product announcement strategies, software release positioning, and roadmap communication that keeps WWT's field teams and customers ahead of the technology curve.
  • Build and expand partner ecosystems complementary to WWT's AI Factory go-to-market, identifying integration opportunities across compute, networking, storage, security, and software platforms.
