Upper School English Literature Teacher–Full or Part Time
Mead Hall Episcopal School is the parish day school of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Upper School English Literature Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position covers World Literature, American Literature, AP Literature and AP Language.
Required qualifications to include:
● A Bachelor’s degree in an education related field
● Strong organizational, writing, grammar, and verbal communication skills
● Familiarity with lesson planning, differentiating instruction, and using creativity and
technology in the classroom
● A dependable nature and strong work ethic
● A positive disposition while functioning within a highly motivated, fast-paced, and diverse staff and community
● The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times
● A willingness to uphold the School's mission and philosophy, and demonstrate the
School's core character values
Preferred qualifications, in addition to the above requirements, include:
● A Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in English
● 1-3 years experience teaching high school English
● Experience in both public and private education sectors
Responsibilities will include:
● Demonstrating knowledge, skill, and ability to plan and execute a balanced 21st
Century learning experience
● Maintaining student records and collaborating with other teachers, administrators, and
parents
● Developing a classroom atmosphere that promotes positive learning and an inclusive,
welcoming, purposeful school tone and culture.
● Participating in training as necessary to learn and update school curriculum
● Expressing a desire to be an active member of the Mead Hall community
● Actively participating in professional development in order to remain current with best
practices in education and technology
● Collaborating with colleagues within subject and grade level, in order to provide the best
learning experience possible
● Using technology such as word processing/presentation software, Online Student
Information Program (FACTS), Smartboard, Google Apps for teachers (Gmail/Google
Docs, etc.), and online learning suites effectively to support, enhance, and extend
instruction.
● Communicating effectively with parents through school e-mail, phone calls, in-person
conversations, Report Cards, etc.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
