Systems Analyst

job summary:
Extensive knowledge of internet, mobile, and application architecture, as well as current and emerging technologies

Full grasp of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning

Use of formal methods (traditional structured or Agile/iterative) for delivering new or improved applications, identifying and communicating systems development processes and generating requirement documentation associated with the respective phases of the lifecycle

Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups, both in person and virtually, in a constructive and collaborative manner

Strong analytical skills and ability to solve issues and work through ambiguous situations by making timely decisions based on facts, knowledge, experience and judgment

Communicate effectively in various settings; one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, and senior management

Skilled at influencing team members and external groups

Proactively navigates the organization in order to accomplish tasks

Willingness to work on multiple efforts simultaneously

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

responsibilities:

• BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Robust critical thinking skills coupled with a desire for growth and drive to learn and engage with peers in technical and design discussions
• Proven experience in communicating technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners, and partners
• Ability to utilize a long-term mentality to help produce scalable, maintainable solutions
• Passion to provide guidance on standard methodologies and mentoring support to the other Systems Analysts within the wider Digital Platforms Technology team
• 8+ years of experience, with a focus in financial services applications

 
qualifications:

Experience collaborating in a team environment to develop, deploy, and support key applications and features

A proven understanding of the Agile software development methodology

Excellent written and oral communication skills, allowing you to interview Business partners to understand project objectives, use cases and requirements

Strong analytical skills, enabling you to research, document and review existing systems and recommend designs for achieving requirements for self-contained projects within a larger program

Proficiency in assisting in the writing of user requirements and all the supporting documentation

Ability to diagram business processes and system workflows

Expertise in conveying technical concepts with internal customers, technical team members, and/or other technical contributors across the organization

Willingness to actively participate in defining project scope/backlog, while recommending solutions to project issues

Desire to understand WS Digital Platforms' web and mobile applications, while having the confidence to clearly communicate technical concepts to the internal partners inside and outside of the Scrum team

Ability to learn quickly, adapt and thrive to meet the needs of a fast-paced and evolving environment

Ability to provide strong support to Quality Assurance and Business partners throughout all testing phases, including participating in triaging system defects in production and non-production environments
