Summary of Role:
This Principal Equipment Engineer will work in the Ion Implant Module at Fab 9, Essex Junction, VT. This engineer will own the daily performance of a diverse set of semiconductor implant equipment types and set the strategic plans for improvements and new equipment. This role is fully onsite at this 200mm waferfab foundry facility, on a Monday - Friday daytime schedule.
Essential Responsibilities:
Ensure execution of maintenance and tool support ensuring equipment readiness
Analyze and monitor technical charts
Ensure and follow good safety practices and custody of tools, equipment and other properties
Work and collaborate on other projects and/or assignments as needed
Collaborate daily with maintenance technicians and process engineers to meet production demands
Drive continuous improvement projects with respect to equipment availability, cost reduction, and yield improvement
Establish and manage the spare parts to meet repair budgets
Support cross functional problem solving, involving facilities, maintenance and process engineering
Work with procurement and suppliers to select strategic equipment and ensure continuity of spare part supply and quality
Manage installation, troubleshooting, and upgrading & startup of new or retrofit equipment while minimizing downtime
Mentor and lead lower-level equipment engineering team members
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Carry out additional duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager
Required Qualifications:
Education -bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, physics, or related field
BS + 4-5 years' relevant field experience OR MS + 2-4 years' relevant field experience OR PhD + 1-2 years' relevant field experience
Understanding of troubleshooting electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems
Understanding of pumps, high vacuum systems, and RF generators
Demonstrated effective problem solving and communication of action plans
Travel - Up to 10%
Fluency in English Language - both written & verbal
Physical Capacity Demands - Ability to lift and carry parts up to 30 lbs., stand, or bend and crouch to inspect, or work on equipment in the clean room for extended periods of time
Basic data analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with supplier and contractor management
Project management experience
Team leadership experience
Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, equipment and clean room facilities
Expected Salary Range
$85,000.00 - $146,000.00
The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
