Job Title: Part Time Adult Education English as a Second Language Instructor
Position Summary:
The Adult Education English as a second language Instructor provides English language instruction to adult learners within various community classrooms. The instructor develops and delivers engaging lessons that focus on communication by enhancing reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills with real life applications for transferable skills. This role is instrumental in helping participants achieve educational, personal, or employment goals, such as obtaining a high school equivalency diploma or improving literacy skills to communicate effectively with a child’s teacher, or to increase employability.

Bachelor’s Degree in TESOL, Education or a related field required.

Proficiency in using technology for student record management and virtual instruction.

Additional Requirements:
Current Act 114, Act 34, Act 151 and NSOR Clearances required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).
School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.
Working Conditions: This is a part-time position with flexible hours to accommodate student needs, including potential evening or weekend, and virtual, hybrid, and in person sessions. This position may involve standing, walking, and active engagement throughout the day. Position Schedule: 10 hours per week, not to exceed 25 hours depending on courseload, in alignment with programming schedule per cycle
Location: Itinerant, daily site determined based on student enrollment
Salary: $23.00/hour
