Shifts are 4 hours Monday through Friday 7:30am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications:


1. Sixteen (16) years of age.


Desired Education and Experience:


1. Successful work or volunteer experience with children.

2. Supervisory experience with school-age children.

3. Bilingual


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

1. Ability to carry out duties cooperatively with others

2. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities at once.

3. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

4. Knowledge of current technologies, spreadsheets, and presentation software.

5. Competency working in a multicultural environment or the willingness to acquire these skills


JOB SUMMARY:

Assist the Enrichment Leader with providing a safe, secure and structured after school environment, while demonstrating positive behavior management techniques. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific positions requirements will vary depending on the needs of the Metro kids department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist in administering quality Metro Kids programming while adhering to, and having a firm understanding of, District and program procedures, and Department of Human Services licensing regulations.

2. Assist in communicating program expectations and procedures clearly, effectively, and in a positive manner to staff, students, and parents/guardians.

3. Assist in implementing positive student behavior management techniques

4. Assist with implementing a safe, high quality, hands-on, engaging, and age-appropriate academic, enrichment and recreational curriculum/programs and clubs; actively participate and engage in activities with students; not just supervise or observe.

5. Present a positive image of the program while providing exemplary customer care and following program procedures to safely dismiss students from the program.

6. Assist in establishing a positive, supportive, and working relationship and communication with Enrichment Leaders, site staff, students and parents/guardians.

7. Assist in maintaining high-level of fairness, confidentiality, respect and equity with students, families and staff.

8. Assist in supervising students in all Metro Kids program areas


ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(for every DMPS position):

1. Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.

2. Maintain confidentiality.

3. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.

4. Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

CALENDAR: Part Time 4 hour Day


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Constant: Walking, standing,

Frequent: Sitting, Bending, Stooping

Occasional: Reaching,Pushing, Pulling, Climbing Stairs, Driving, Lifting (50lbs), Carrying (20 feet)

Working Conditions:

Constant inside

Frequent outside and extremes of temperature/humidity
